About Pecan
“I’m here today because I’m really experiencing some really tough times. Which leads to problems with food and other things... years ago I would never imagine being in a place like this.” – Client A, at Southwark Foodbank Session May 2025.
At Pecan, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. From our first interaction with a beneficiary to their end journey with us, we see the power of small acts of compassion shaping lives across Peckham and Southwark.
Each year, we support thousands of individuals facing hardship, whether through food insecurity, unemployment, or social isolation through our five projects: Southwark Foodbank, Peckham Pantry, Together Hub, Women's Service and Employment Support.
"I have no one to laugh with, this is the first time I've laughed like this all week. Thank you!" - Women's Service Client

Your Donations
By sponsoring our runners and donating to Pecan, you help us to provide year-round support to our community through consistent and quality services.
The money raised will provide:
- £15 could provide an emergency food parcel with enough food for 3 days.
- £30 could enable someone to benefit from a one-to-one employment preparation session, supporting them out of poverty through earning an income.
- £40 could help a woman receive one-to-one support from one of our Advocates, enabling her to address her needs.
- £55 could run a café session in Together, supporting those who are lonely and socially isolated to better mental wellbeing.
- £100 could stock our Pantry shelves with healthy, nutritious, culturally appropriate food.
We know things are tough right now with the Cost-of-Living crisis affecting us all, so we are so thankful for the kindness and generosity of our community.
